History Collection

The Red Deer Museum and Art Gallery holds a large collection of artefacts that are significant to the stories of Red Deer and its surrounding districts.

The objects range from the historic to the contemporary and help us to learn of the people and events that shaped our region. Researched artefacts are displayed in our museum exhibits and used in our educational programs. We continue to add to our collection to reflect our evolving community.

Our collection objects are used to research, exhibit, and program the Red Deer and area experience.

While conducting a thorough inventory and examination of our collection we have identified some underrepresented communities, cultures, and time periods. If you own an object that you feel is significant to the telling of the Red Deer story please contact the museum for more information. We welcome donations that allow the collection to more accurately represent our dynamic society.
