Join Crystal Kirkham in her talk on the many different Paths to Publishing. From self-publishing to signing a contract with one of the big five publishers, this presentation will give an overview of the many different ways someone can become a published author. We’ll cover the pros and cons of the various types of publishing as well as red flags that authors should be aware of.

This presentation is offered as part of Art Speaks and takes place at the Red Deer Museum + Art Gallery from 6:30-8 pm. Pre-registration is required. Light refreshments available. For ages 18+.

About Crystal Kirkham

Crystal L. Kirkham (pictured) is the owner of Dark Brew Press, an independent publishing company. She is also a multi-genre speculative fiction author and podcaster.

Her journey into the publishing the industry started with her self-published first novel and came to fruition over a decade later when she launched her own company. Over the intervening years, she’s had the chance to work with multiple publishers, authors, and editors.

She has learned a lot about many aspects of the publishing industry including editing, formatting, cover design, and more. While she still finds passion in creating her own worlds with the written word, she has fallen in love with being able to help others get their works out into the world.
