Remarkable Red Deer
Our unique settlement history and growth is credited to leadership and “can-do” attitude which is still evident today. We’re proud to be able to share the stories from the heart of the Parkland with our community.
This 4800 sq ft exhibition uses a thematic approach to showcase our diverse heritage and highlight many of the little known “firsts” developed here. A creative mix of historic artifacts, archival material and modern technology tells the stories of the lives of ordinary people, stories of vision, sacrifice, hardship and success. Visitors of all ages enjoy a rich, multi-media experience.
Several prominent buildings have been a part of Red Deer’s landscape for many years. The exhibition features several, including the Stephenson Hall Block (Red Deer’s first commercial building), the Train Station, the Club Cafe and the Capitol Theatre. Each area is unique and offers interactive stations where visitors discover more about the past.
If you are interested in seeing which songs we have on our Jukebox, found in the Club Cafe exhibit, you can find the complete listing here.
