Mosaic Mark Making

Today’s project draws inspiration from colour field painter Mark Rothko, who created giant canvases bursting with colour. We will paint on large pieces of Mayfair paper to create our own amazing abstract colour fields.

In celebrating our 50th Anniversary, we are revisiting some of our favourite MAGSaturday activities from the past. This is the 253rd MAGSaturdays activity!

In lieu of admission fees to MAGSaturdays this December, we are collecting equal value donations for the Red Deer Food Bank and Safe Harbour Society. Bring in your non perishable food items and/or warm wear items (mitts, toques, scarves, socks) and join us for an afternoon of creativity at MAGnificent Saturdays!

Harvest Still Life

Consider: the humble zucchini, the spectacular squash, or the majestic pumpkin. Today, we will use pastel paper and oil pastels to draw a beautiful bouquet of fall crops from still life.
