Wild! Wonderful! Random! Fantastical and nonsensical! DADA was an art movement that emerged in the mid 1910’s pioneered by artists such as the Cabaret Voltaire collective and Marcel Duchamp. Dada enbraces subversion through nonsense. Today, we’ll be making Dada-inspired collages out of magazine cuttings, scrapbook paper, and so much more!

Join us as part of #FirstFridaysRedDeer this May as we celebrate some of the remarkable people and places of Red Deer in our permanent history exhibit, Remarkable Red Deer.

We will unveil new additions to our collection including the taxidermized Buffalo head from the Buffalo Hotel and Curtis Labelle’s performance costume and memorabilia. Check out these treasures from our collection to celebrate our 50th anniversary!

On the first Friday of every month, join the galleries in downtown Red Deer in celebrating local, regional and national artistic talent.
